Biography:
Michèle Ansermet Papadopoulos is a Franco-Swiss multidisciplinary artist, born in Paris. She lives and works between Paris and Cyprus.
Trained at the ENSAD – National School of Decorative Arts in Paris and at the Académie Charpentier, she developed a rigorous artistic foundation in drawing and composition.
She is the founder of the artistic movement Chromatism, a visual language in which color is not decorative but structural — a living force that builds space, tension, and movement.
Awarded the 1st Prize at the Salon d’Automne and the Christiane Peugeot Prize (2016), she has exhibited internationally in France, Cyprus, China, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Belgium.

Michèle Ansermet Papadopoulos’ work is built on the principle that color is structure.
Through Chromatism, she develops a visual architecture in which chromatic intensity shapes space and generates rhythm. Her paintings combine dynamic composition, symbolic figures, and textual elements to create layered narratives.
The viewer’s experience unfolds in stages: first the impact of color, then the discovery of shapes and figures, and finally a closer reading of embedded text and symbolic detail.
Each painting functions as a constructed world — alive, rhythmic, and in dialogue with the viewer.

Beyond her personal artistic practice, Michèle Ansermet Papadopoulos seeks to expand Chromatism as both a visual language and a platform for dialogue.
Her objective is to curate and develop collections that highlight artists who share a structural and chromatic approach to contemporary art. She is committed to supporting emerging talents and fostering international exchanges that strengthen artistic collaboration.
Through exhibitions, curated projects, and cross-cultural initiatives, she aims to build a dynamic ecosystem where color becomes both architecture and expression.
A defining moment in Michèle Ansermet Papadopoulos’ career emerged through her collaboration with the renowned porcelain house Haviland, where her visual language extended beyond canvas into functional art. This partnership united fine art and craftsmanship, bringing her chromatic structures into everyday life.
Her collaboration with Oscar Collection further expanded her artistic field, integrating her visual vocabulary into new materials and forms, including glass and design objects.
Beyond her personal artistic production, she leads and curates the section “CHROMATICS” at the Salon d’Automne in Paris, supporting artists whose work explores structural approaches to color and composition. This curatorial commitment reflects her dedication to building dialogue and continuity within contemporary art.
